MS60 Details.</B></I> Though Weinman intended the wings on Liberty's cap to symbolize freedom of thought, comparisons with mythology were inevitable, and the "Mercury" dime, however misnamed, soon appeared in the general numismatic vocabulary. On this key-date coin, blue-green and gold patina covers the luminous, modestly impaired surfaces. The overall detail is bold, and on the reverse, the bands are surprisingly close to full.
