<B>1916-D 10C AU58 NGC.</B></I> For the collector who has longed for a high grade example of this date, the present coin may be considered. As with most 1916-D dimes, the strike is generally sharp with good separation on the central bands. Furthermore, this one is toned with dark silver-gray around the periphery, lighter on the obverse and darker on the reverse. Examination will find a couple of minor scuffs on Liberty's cheek and neck, and there is a scrape on the fasces below the center which grazes the motto. The vast majority of the 264,000 pieces coined entered circulation and stayed for a very long time, with the typical grade seen far below the present offering.
