<B>1916 5C PR65 PCGS.</B></I> This matte proof is from a mintage of only 600 pieces (David Lange, in his third edition of <I>The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels,</B></I> notes that the proof nickels of 1913 to 1916, like the cents of those years, actually possess a satin finish). The present Gem displays bright surfaces imbued with a mix of pastel champagne-gold, ice-blue, mint-green, and rose toning, and are devoid of distracting marks.
