<B>1916 25C VF25 PCGS.</B></I> The tiny mintage and late distribution of this issue likely caused Variety One to be a two-year type; given how quickly scandal spread over the original design, an earlier release may well have inspired a change in design before the end of the year. This example is optimally graded for the collector who wants a nice, reasonably detailed piece, yet does not want to chase a stratospherically expensive example. The pearl-gray surfaces have a subtle tint of periwinkle-blue, as well as traces of orange at the periphery.
