1916<25C> MS64 Full Head PCGS. The 1916 quarter, struck in a transitional year between the Barber and Standing Liberty designs, is one of the most famous 20th century silver rarities. The popularity and scarcity of this quarter dollar issue places it in the ranks of such important 20th century American coins as the 1909-S VDB cent, the 1907 High Relief double eagle, and the 1955 Doubled Die cent. This is a shimmering, essentially brilliant example that shows just a trace of peripheral color on each side. Boldly struck for this often poorly defined issue and displaying few appreciable surface marks. The reverse fields have a beautiful matte-like texture. A handful of tiny blemishes are scattered over the reverse, while the obverse is nearly mark-free. In a green label PCGS holder.
From The Tide Collection.
