1916 25C MS64 Full Head NGC. Among 20th
1916<25C> MS64 Full Head NGC. Among 20th century issues of the denomination, only the 1913-S quarter has a lower mintage than the 1916 Standing Liberty, of which just 52,000 pieces were struck. This is about eight times fewer pieces than the 1932-S key date of its series successor, the Washington quarter. While the 1916 Standing Liberty will never compete with the 1866 No Motto or the 1873-CC No Arrows in terms of rarity, it is undoubtedly more famous than either of those non-collectible issues, and will always command a high price in quality Mint State. The present near-Gem has attractive cartwheel sheen, and is brilliant aside from a hint of gold color visible on either side. The strike is good if not quite needle-sharp, and contact is very limited. Only a slender horizontal mark beneath AMERICA is worthy of mention.
