1916 25C MS63 Full Head PCGS. The 1916 Standing Liberty quarter, with its famous low mintage of just 52,000 pieces, is one of the best-known key issues of 20th century coinage. Examples were released alongside those of 1917, which caused some initial confusion but effectively stopped a run on banks to acquire representatives of the new design. MacNeil's obverse was one of the boldest statements ever made on United States coinage, with a full-length portrait of a Liberty who actively bore and did not merely support a shield, though this aspect of the design was not what attracted initial attention.
Survivors are always in demand, and Mint State examples especially so. This Select piece has pleasing, frosty luster and strong detail, particularly on the upper devices. Light golden patina covers much of the piece. The overall eye appeal is high, though several nicks on Liberty's leg and gown restrict the grade.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
