<B>1916 25C AU50 PCGS.</B></I> Certain coin mintages just seem <I>memorable </B></I>to coin aficionados, and the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter, with an emission of 52,000 pieces, is one such. It is, of course, memorably <I>low, </B></I>and since they were released in early 1917 along with the later-dated pieces, relatively few of the first-year pieces survived in top condition.<BR> This silver-gray-and-gold AU specimen shows light rub only on the highpoints of the head, breasts, shield, and torso, yet most of the mint luster is still in evidence. All four digits of the date are bold, and all of Liberty's toes are visible.
