1916 1C PR65 Red NGC. The 1916 (1,050 pieces produced) is the most conditionally challenging date in the matte proof Lincoln Cent series. A mere 11 specimens have received a PR65 Red grade at NGC and PCGS, and there are just five coins finer (10/02). Furthermore, the absolute rarity of the 1916 is equal to that of the lower mintage 1909 VDB. This radiant example is bursting with full mint finish in reddish-orange shades. There are no outwardly distracting blemishes, and the strike is full in all areas. An out-of-the-way carbon fleck at 3 o'clock on the reverse rim should help trace the pedigree of this important Lincoln Cent. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
