<B>1916 1C PR64 Red and Brown PCGS.</B></I> David Lange (2005) writes that: "The rarity of this date in proof suggests that not all of the pieces reportedly coined (1,050 examples) were actually distributed." He also notes that: "Uncleaned examples are very rare." This original PR64 Red and Brown piece shows a sharp strike, and attractive orange-gold, crimson, yellow-green, and sky-blue patination. Both sides are quite well preserved.
