<B>1916 10C MS68 Full Bands PCGS.</B></I> Few coins of any date or denomination ever achieve the lofty MS68 grade assessment. Adapted from Dr. William Sheldon's grading scale for early large cents, a coin may be designated at any level from Poor 1 to Mint State 70.<BR> This first-year issue was widely saved by Eastern collectors, and is fairly easy to obtain at all grade levels through MS65, even with Full Bands. At MS66 Full Bands the population begins to shrink, and at MS68 a mere 22 pieces have been seen, through the combined efforts of NGC and PCGS (2/07). The current offering represents one of the most impressive examples of this issue in existence. Combined with razor-sharp details and intense luster, the near-pristine surfaces display rich, beautiful layers of deep red-brown, magenta, and electric-blue coloration.
