1916 10C MS67 Full Bands PCGS. The 1916 Mercury dimes are technically a one-year subtype, as they were produced with a "rough-hewn" or textured field that designer Adolph Weinman specifically favored, since it allowed the luster to disperse rather than nearly blind the viewer, allowing a closer inspection of the devices. Despite Weinman's preference, in 1917 the master hubs were revised to eliminate the feature. This piece shows the subtype to maximum advantage, with brilliant (but not blinding) radiance and softly textured, problem-free surfaces. The bands are fully and indubitably split. PCGS has certified eight Full Bands coins finer (4/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
