<B>1915-S $5 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> The 164,000-piece 1915-S half eagle is elusive in all grades, especially so in Mint State, where about 270 coins in all grades of Uncirculated are reported by PCGS and NGC. Just 35 Select pieces have been seen, and fewer than 20 near-Gems. The finest certified 1915-S half eagle is a solitary NGC MS65! Honey-gold surfaces yield satiny luster on the MS62 piece for sale here, and sharp definition is apparent on the design elements. Several minute, but grade-defining marks are visible on both sides.
