The overall ambiance is one of subdued, matte-like luster that bespeaks quality. An essentially unimprovable Superb Gem. The 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition belatedly celebrated the inauguration of the Panama Canal. 10,000 Quarter Eagles were minted in June of 1915, with an additional 17 reserved for assay. They were offered at the Exposition for $4 apiece. 6,749 pieces sold, with the remainder returned to the mint for melting. Population: 44 in 67, 0 finer (1/02).
