1915 Jack Johnson vs. Jess Willard Cuban Broadside. After nearly a century of solitude hidden within the pages of a book, this remarkable and quite possibly only surviving broadside of its kind emerges upon the auction scene for one advanced collector of pugilistica. The 9x14" poster comes to us from a vintage bookstore owner who quickly realized that he had discovered a remarkable artifact from one of boxing's most noteworthy events. Top boxing memorabilia expert Harry Shaffer believes that the broadside was most likely posted at a hotel for Americans visiting Havana for the bout that would rescue the racist boxing establishment from five years of black reign. The unforgiving Caribbean climate and the ongoing Castro embargo have either destroyed or quarantined the vast majority of paper collectibles on the island, so a find such as this is truly remarkable. Aside from the four evenly-spaced horizontal storage folds, the broadside presents in astounding NRMT condition. LOA from Harry Shaffer.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
