<B>1915 $5 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> The 1915 half eagle boasts a mintage of 588,000 pieces, and is readily available in grades VF through Mint State 63. Near-Gems become more difficult to locate, and MS65 pieces are quite scarce. Fewer than 60 examples have been assigned the MS65 grade by PCGS and NGC, and none finer. The specimen in this lot exhibits vibrant luster and attractive yellow-gold and orange-gold color. The design features are powerfully struck, as is characteristic of the issue; the hair at the Indian's temple is strongly defined, as is the eagle's plumage. A few light handling marks prevent an even higher grade.
