<B>1915 $20 MS65 NGC.</B></I> The 1915 double eagle, with a mintage of 152,000 pieces, is readily available in grades through Mint State 64, but becomes a challenge in MS65, where only 70 or so pieces have been certified by NGC and PCGS combined. No finer examples have been seen by either service (3/07).<BR> Dazzling luster exudes from both sides of this gorgeous MS65 example, each of which is adorned with yellow-gold color, imbued with traces of orange on the obverse. A powerful strike emboldens the design elements, including sharp definition on the panes of the Capitol building, Liberty's fingers and toes, and the eagle's plumage.
