<B>1915 $20 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The 1915 double eagle has long been regarded as a challenging coin to locate in Gem condition. David Akers (1988) says this of the 1915 P-mint twenty: "...it is a classic condition rarity and is definitely rare in full Gem condition," and "this issue is considerably more rare than the lower mintage 1914." Akers' observations are substantiated by the fact that neither NGC nor PCGS has graded an example finer than MS65. The current coin provides an opportunity to acquire a near-Gem example of this conditionally difficult date.
