<B>1915 $2 1/2 PR66 NGC.</B></I> This Premium Gem proof has distinctive dark matte surfaces, darker than usually seen on this or any other matte proof quarter eagles. The best single color description for this piece seems to be ocher. Both sides have finely grained surface texture that is unusual for this date. A review of our archives indicates that there are two different types of finish for the matte proofs of this year.
