In the late 1800s and early 1900s, it was common for wealthy United States citizens to move $20 gold coins to Europe.

During the 1970s, a famous iconic coin dealer named Larry Nunemaker would often times show up at a coin show with over 1000 of these exact coins.

This EXACT coin you are bidding on has never been graded and did in fact come from the hand of Larry Nunemaker. I never had the opportunity to meet Larry, but early in my career when I was out of Beverly Hills in the 1980s, I heard stories then about the great Larry Nunemaker.

He was an early adopter, leader, and entrepreneur who practically invented importing United States $20 gold coins from Europe. All of these particular coins were sold at the same price as a lot of BU. That description is short for Brilliant Uncirculated. On the paperwork, you can see the owner of the coins had graded them incorrectly overtime, but Larry had graded them correctly by 1975 standards as BU.

By today's standards, it is up to you, PCGS or NGC to decide, but for the most part, this is the nicest freshest group of gold coins I have seen in a long, long, long, long while.
