<B>1914-S $20 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The 1914-S double eagle, with a mintage of nearly 1.5 million pieces, is very common, as evidenced by the thousands of certified Mint State examples. However, David Bowers (2004) writes that: "Quality can be a problem, as many are scuffed or are peppered with bagmarks." The radiantly lustrous MS64 piece offered here displays bright orange-gold color and sharply impressed design features. While a few minor marks limit the grade, they certainly do not pose the quality problem Bowers alludes to. Overall, great technical quality and high aesthetic appeal.
