1914-S<1C> MS65 Red PCGS. One of the true rarities to the Lincoln cent series in certified Gem Red condition, along with several other (mostly) S-mint issues. While the 1914-S a few years ago was considered a top rarity, as more and more Lincolns have been submitted for certification it has ceded its place to recent contenders, such as the legendary 1926-S (one certified in MS65 Red at PCGS) and the somewhat more available 1918-S and 1920-S, still quite rare in Gem Red state. The obverse of this lovely Gem is a consistent tan-gold, while the reverse mixes yellow-gold with orange-gold and magenta. This well-struck piece shows only a single tick on the center cheekbone. Population: 33 in 65 Red, 2 finer (9/06).
