1914-S $10 MS65 PCGS.
1914-S $10 MS65 PCGS.<p>The San Francisco Mint produced 208,000 Eagles in 1914, a respectable total that explains why collectors will have little trouble locating a circulated representative. Gold specialists who focus on Mint State coins, however, have their work cut out for them when in comes to the '14-S. The majority of Uncirculated survivors are confined to the MS60-62 level, and even an MS63 example is a significant find. Solidly graded Gems are of the utmost rarity, and we have not handled a PCGS-certified MS65 coin in more than a year. With awe-inspiring eye appeal and razor sharp striking definition, this solidly graded Gem was certainly worth the wait. The luster is vibrant with a satiny sheen that highlights the blemish-free surfaces. There are no singularly mentionable bagmarks on either side, although the Mint-made depression over and before the 1 in the date is evident. This feature is also known on examples of the 1911-S and 1913-S deliveries. Population: 8 in 65, 0 finer (10/01).From the Bill Dailey Collection.
