1914 Navy Luger, by DWM, #4298, 9mm, 6'' barrel, blue finish with straw small parts, checkered walnut grips, and one correct matching numbered tin-plated magazine with ringed walnut base and naval proofmark. Top of chamber marked 1916, central toggle link marked DWM, with two-position graduated rear sight, and ''(crown)/M'' proofmarks. Forward left portion of frame and front sight base marked ''1916''. Considered quite scarce with only 8000 mfg'd in 1916. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 97% lightly thinning and toning blue, with some thinning in actioning areas. Grips with very minor flattening. All visible matching numbers. Action is crisp, bore shows some frosting in the grooves as is typical with this period military firearm. Est.: $3,000-$5,000.
