1914 Mosaic Royal Russian Egg 2.6 Inches Tall (on a stand) x 1.5 Inches Wide 6.604 cm Tall (on a stand) x 3.81 cm Wide Enameled Gold Plated Pewter Hand Painted Gift Boxed This hand-painted sparkling egg is adorned with a high-polished green enamel with golden trim. It is decorated with light pink enameled roses and green leaves. This beauty stands on a golden stand. The egg opens on a hinge and closes shut with a magnet, to keep the box securely shut. The piece comes in a beautiful gift box. Egg History: The egg was created by Carl Peter's workmaster, Henrik Winstrom and is crafted of gold, green and pink enamel in various shades, portrait diamonds, rose-cut diamonds, and satin lining. This egg is enameled in translucent pale green and latticed with rose-cut diamonds and decorated with opaque light and dark pink enamel roses and emerald green leaves.
