Mary Fitzpatrick O'Brien (1888-1919), daughter of Thomas Fitzpatrick, produced manuscript illuminations in collaboration with her father, and contributed cartoons to his magazine The Lepracaun. When Thomas died in 1912, she took over as proprietor and editor, until her own death in 1919. Her grandson is distinguished Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick, who himself has produced many well known cartoons, including the murals in the famous Dublin restaurant, Captain America, and his series of elaborate drawings of Celtic mythological heroes and heoines.
