1914-D Lincoln 1C
1914-D Lincoln Cent. PCGS graded MS-64 Red. A well struck example exhibiting full blazing mint red color. The surfaces radiate this intense luster and superb color with visual appeal far ahead of others. Meanwhile, all devices were struck smack on the dot at the required force by the dies. This left the design elements plain and clear-cut, with not one iota of weakness (unlike that found on some Lincoln cents from Denver parading around in the same numerical grade). In an old green label PCGS holder. Popular Key Date and always in demand. Pop 130; 55 in 65 Red, 3 in 66 Red (PCGS # 2473) .

Note: 1914-D cents are generally better made than the D-Mint cents of 1911 through 1913 and those after 1916. Most show full details, with only occasional softening of the numerals and lettering. Recognized as a rarity since the 1930s, this issue was tied at $2.00 with its San Francisco cousin for the most highly rated Lincoln Cents in the 1935 Standard Catalog. With the growing popularity of this series, however, its value took off during the 1950s and early '60s.
Estimated Value $6,000 - 7,000.
