1914-D Lincoln 1C NGC MS65
1914-D. NGC graded MS-65 Red. Well struck with lots of Mint Red color starting to tone down. In an older holder. Little discussion is needed for this famous coin since the 1914-D is the key regular issue in the Lincoln Cent series. While fewer '09-S VDB Cents may have been produced, far fewer '14-D Cents were saved at the time of issue. Collectors should bear this in mind. The 1914-D is also an issue in which is unusual to find with glowing red surfaces. This piece has lovely soft mint luster and is nearly flawless. Close inspection with a loupe reveals a couple of tiny marks on each side, with two on Lincoln’s beard being the most noteworthy but scarcely deserving your attention. There are no spots to distract the viewer, indeed nothing untoward even noticeable to the unaided eye. Fully struck also. Pop 19; 5 in 66 RD.
Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,000.
