1914-D $5 MS63 PCGS. Like the 1911-S, the 1914-D
1914-D<$5> MS63 PCGS. Like the 1911-S, the 1914-D (247,000 pieces produced) is one of the great unsung rarities in the Indian Half Eagle series. When offered in Mint State at all, the '14-D is apt to grade no finer than BU. An important, and pleasing Select representative, the surfaces are lustrous with a soft, satiny sheen. Both sides are a medium copper-gold color with suggestions of golden-rose tinting intermixed. The strike is sharp in most areas, and even where it is not (over the lowermost feathers in the Indian's headdress), it is still sufficiently bold for the type. There are no abrasions that are worthy of singular attention.
