1914-D $5 MS63 NGC. Like the 1911-S, the 1914-D (247,000 pieces produced) is one of the great unsung rarities in the Indian Half Eagle series. When offered in Mint State at all, the '14-D is apt to grade no finer than BU. An important, and pleasing Choice representative, the surfaces are lustrous with a soft, satiny sheen. Both sides are a light orange-gold color with suggestions of golden-rose tinting intermixed. The strike is sharp in most areas, and even where it is not (over the lowermost feathers in the Indian's headdress), it is still sufficiently bold for the type. There are no abrasions that are worthy of singular attention. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
