<B>1914-D $20 MS66 PCGS.</B></I> Many of the 453,000 1914-D double eagles escaped the melting pots of the 1930s, and the issue is now considered a relatively common date of the Saint-Gaudens series. In Premium Gem, however, it becomes more elusive, and is virtually unobtainable above MS66. This specimen displays beautiful orange-gold luster with some lighter shades scattered throughout, and a relatively bold strike is noted on the design features. A small linear abrasion on Liberty's forehead is mentioned for accuracy.
