1914-D $20 MS66 NGC. In any grade less than Gem BU the 1914-D is a rather nondescript issue that receives little attention. In MS65, however, it is rare and in MS66 this piece is highly sought after. The granularity on this coin is so coarse that the fields seem to ripple with a pronounced orange-peel effect. The devices are fully brought up in all areas and just about the only surface marks are a couple of tiny ones in the left obverse field. High-gloss satiny luster covers the surfaces and there is an overlay of subtle reddish patina as well. A rare opportunity to acquire this date in the near-ultimate condition. Census: 25 in MS66, only one finer (1/08).
From The Ultra Collection.

Coin Engraver: Augustus Saint-Gaudens

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
