<B>1914-D<$2 1/2> MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The 1914-D Indian quarter eagle is seldom encountered finer than MS64, and is second only to the key-date 1911-D in rarity at the Gem level. Perhaps due to public insecurities regarding the war raging in Europe, examples of this issue were not saved at the time of their release. This example offers compelling khaki-gold surfaces with only light abrasions consistent with the near-Gem assessment. PCGS has graded 35 pieces finer (9/06).
