<B>1914-D $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> Despite the plentiful mintage of nearly a half-million pieces, the collecting public of the time failed to save many examples of this unpopular coinage, similar to another famous 1914-D coin, the Lincoln cent. This quarter eagle shows a better-than-expected strike, although a light unstruck area is noted on the Indian's cheek, opposite the highpoints of the eagle's wingtip.
