<B>1914-D $2 1/2 MS64 NGC.</B></I> Although the 1914-D attracts little interest in typical Mint State grades, it emerges as the greatest conditional rarity of the series at the MS65 level. Even near-Gems are surprisingly scarce, given the production of 448,000 pieces and the fact that quarter eagles circulated infrequently by 1914. This fully lustrous near-Gem has clean surfaces and good eye appeal.
