<B>1914-D 1C MS65 Red and Brown NGC.</B></I> Ex: Jules Reiver Collection. The 1914-D is scarce in all grades, and is one of the most elusive issues in the Lincoln series at the Uncirculated level; something that almost guarantees the issue will remain a favorite with collectors for decades to come. Pleasing satiny luster. The surfaces are essentially full faded red with blushes of pleasing pale blue and violet. Nearly all design features are boldly and deeply defined including Lincoln's hair and the details of the wheat ears. Walter Breen wrote in his <I>Encyclopedia</B></I> that a hoard of 700 examples remained together until the early 1950s.
