1914-D 1C MS65 Red PCGS. A mere 1,193,000 cents were coined at the Denver Mint throughout the year, the third lowest production of any date and mintmark combination in the entire Lincoln cent series. As there were few collectors in the middle part of the country at the time, nearly all of those struck slipped into circulation relatively unnoticed. As time passed and the low mintage was recognized, collectors began searching for these coins much as they did for the 1909-S VDB cent.
Gem Mint State pieces are quite rare and highly desired, especially with full original mint color. This piece is well struck with satiny orange luster. Each side has a few small spots and surface marks, but nothing out of the ordinary for a Gem quality specimen. Population: 54 in 65, 3 finer (6/07).

Coin Engraver: Victor D.
