1914-D<1C> MS65 Red PCGS. For many years, the 1909-S VDB, 1914-D, 1922 "Plain", 1931-S, and 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln cents were considered the key-date issues within this series. While the grading service population or census data has shown that many other dates are rare in high-grade, these five issues are still the most difficult dates when all grades are considered. This brilliant Gem 1914-D Cent has bright golden luster with splashes of crimson-red toning, especially at the peripheral areas. Even close examination fails to reveal any carbon spotting. This is one of the very finest '14-D's available in the current market place. Population: 51 in 65, 3 finer (3/05).
From The Tom Mershon #2 All-Time PCGS Registry Set of Lincoln Wheat Cents.
