1914-D 1C MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. The 1914-D has long been recognized as one of the rarest dates in the Lincoln Cent series. Just 1.1 million coins were produced, and, unlike the first-year 1909-S VDB, the '14-D was not preserved in any appreciable quantity at the time of issue. As a result, a Mint State 1914-D is a coveted coin that always elicits significant bids at auction. The present lot offers an attractive near-Gem with dominant pink-red luster over which warm, slightly mottled, light brown patina has gathered. Actually, there is little muting of the original color, and both sides are equally free of noteworthy blemishes. A high end coin for the grade. From the Francis Sullivan Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
