<B>1913 Ty Cobb Presentational Loving Cup Trophy.</B></I> The Peach is honored by his Georgia brethren with the bestowal of this Arts and Crafts style handled cup, artfully engraved, "Ty Cobb, 'Baseball's Greatest,' Presented by Young Fans Club of Atlanta, GA, 1913." Dating from a season that saw the iconic Tiger lead the American League with a .390 average (the sixth of eleven career batting titles), this remarkable artifact stands as one of the few Cobb awards ever to reach the auction block. The cup, crafted from bronze with beautiful sterling silver overlay, was given by Cobb to his biographer Al Stump not long before his passing. Ten and a half inches in height. The slightest amount of denting at the lower edge of the base is mentioned purely for the sake of accuracy, and does not effect the outstanding visual appeal of the piece to any degree.
