1913-S 25C XF40 PCGS. This is a surprisingly important
1913-S 25C XF40 PCGS. This is a surprisingly important opportunity for the advanced collector. There seems to be a common theme among the three key-date Barber quarter dollars (also including the 1896-S and 1901-S issues). Each of these three dates is relatively easy to obtain in the lowest circulated grades from Fair to Very Fine. Each of these dates can also be found in full Mint State grades without undue difficulty. However, none of these issues are available with any frequency in the higher circulated grades, from XF to AU. This date illustrates the common theme: NGC and PCGS have combined to certify 277 pieces in grades lower than XF40, 15 pieces from XF40 to AU58, and 96 pieces in the various Mint State grades. In fact, of the three dates mentioned, the '13-S has the lowest population in grades from XF40 to AU58. This piece has pleasing medium gray color with darker gray-brown on both sides. Although a few faint surface marks can be seen, it is an exceptional example for the grade.
From The Park Cities Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
