1913-S 25C MS66 PCGS.
1913-S 25C MS66 PCGS.<p>With a paltry original delivery of 40,000 coins, it is little wonder that the 1913-S Barber Quarter boasts the lowest mintage of all non-Gold, regular issue U.S. coins from the 20th century. The '13-S is one of the "Big Three" issues in this series along with the 1896-S and 1901-S. Although not as rare as the '01-S in high grades, the '13-S is still a challenging date to locate as a Gem with only 21 coins known to PCGS above the MS64 level (11/01). This coin is untoned save for streaks of golden-tan iridescence over the lower right obverse, upper left obverse, upper right reverse, and in the center of the reverse. The luster is full with a bright satiny sheen, and the only mentionable distraction is a toning spot in the reverse field before the eagle's beak. From the Peter Martinez Collection.
