1913-S $20 MS64 PCGS. This issue's original mintage of 34,000 pieces is the third lowest in the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle series. While BU quality examples are surprisingly available, Choice and Gem representatives are infrequently offered as part of even the largest auctions. Copper-gold in color, the lustrous surfaces possess modest cartwheel effects from a softly frosted finish. With the exception of the lower obverse periphery, which is typically soft on examples of this issue, all areas are bold, if not sharp in strike. Earmarked for inclusion in a high quality date set of 20th century gold. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
