<B>1913-S 1C MS65 Red NGC.</B></I> One of the tough S-mint dates in Uncirculated, among the first of a long string of difficult mintmarked issues. One could quibble over whether this is considered a key or a semikey, but in Gem Red condition it is always valued, and there are far too few examples for the collectors seeking one. This piece has well-struck, light tan-red surfaces, with good luster and no impairments, save for a hint of softness on the 3 in the date. A tiny reverse die crack joins the right (facing) wheat ear to the rim. Among the finest at NGC.
