1913 Dated German DWM Military Luger Semi Automatic Pistol
This is an example of a 1908 Military Contract, German Luger pistol as used by the imperial German forces prior to and during WWI. The top of the chamber area is dated 1913 and the right side of the barrel extension is marked with three "crown/script letter" proofs and one Imperial eagle proof. The top right side of the barrel has a single Imperial Eagle proof along with "Bo.25" over the serial number and bore diameter underneath. The toggle link is marked "DWM" and the left side of the toggle has a small Imperial eagle proof. It is marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" on the extractor and safety area respectively and it has checkered walnut grips with a rust blue metal finish, and straw color on the takedown lever, trigger, magazine release, ejector and safety lever. The magazine is the standard WWI nickel plated body with the wood base that is marked on the bottom with the number "1" and the backstrap is cut for a stock. Matching serial numbers on the barrel extension, frame and barrel, with the partial serial number "70" on most small parts.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 4370b
Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 95% of the original finish with some wear on the muzzle, high point of the sideplate, high edges and some minor oxidation on the lower front strap and on the backstrap. 60% of the original straw color remains on the small components, except for the takedown lever which has a gray patina with strong traces of straw color. The grips are excellent with a few bruises, some high point wear and crisp plus checkering for the most part. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
