This is an early 1913 dated example of an early Imperial German 1914 pattern Luger as manufactured in late 1913 that has a matching magazine. These DWM pistols exhibited the best fit and finish of the WWI pistols and have an all rust blued finish with straw colored small parts. The top of the chamber area is dated 1913 for the year of manufacture with the front toggle marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs next to the "Imperial Eagle" proof, and the left side of the breech block has a small "Crown N" commercial proof. The Imperial Eagle proof is also marked on the top, rear section of the barrel, left side of the breechblock and right side of the barrel extension. The upper safety position and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". It is fitted with the standard checkered walnut grips, fixed sights, with the stock lug on the back strap. It is complete with a tin plated magazine with a wooden base that is numbered on the bottom (54y) and which matches the pistol.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger

The grips are in very good condition with an unusual color almost like English walnut with some minor handling marks and pressure dents with a couple of areas that have been freshened up.
