1913-D<5C> Type Two MS67 PCGS. This first-year variant from the Denver Mint was produced to the extent of 4.1 million pieces. Examples are scarce in all grades with high grade survivors generally displaying far better definition than their Type Two counterparts from the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints. This particular representative is no exception in that regard, but it is uncommonly well preserved. Full mint luster shimmers across both sides with a smooth, satiny sheen and some pastel-golden patina lightly blankets the surfaces. A couple of small black spots are noted on the obverse (one above the Indian's eye), however, the eye appeal is exceptionally strong for the Superb Gem rating. NGC and PCGS combined report a mere 10 examples in MS67, and none are finer at either service (6/06).
