<B>1913-D<5C> Type One MS67 NGC.</B></I> Type One nickels from the Denver Mint are known for their sharp detail, and this Superb Gem is no exception. The textured surfaces have pleasing luster and moderately thick gold patina. Hardly any marks appear on either side, though a "chin whiskers" die clash is visible on the obverse. An excellent choice for the discerning collector, this piece has appeal not only as a representative of a one-year-only type, but as a condition rarity within that type. NGC has certified just 11 pieces in this grade, with none finer and a lone PCGS MS68 atop the combined population reports (9/06).
