<B>1913 $5 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> While the major services have certified several hundred examples of this date in Choice condition, Gem specimens thin out by an order of magnitude, although still somewhat available for a (much higher) price. The present near-Gem accordingly strikes a pleasing balance between condition and cost. The plus sign in the equation, however, is that it also appears high-end for the grade, with pleasing orange-gold coloration and a bold strike, seemingly barred from the Gem ranks only by a single tick on the Indian's cheek.
