1913 1C PR66 Red and Brown PCGS. Even after its customers reacted negatively to the matte proof finish on cents, the Mint persisted, and while Philadelphia produced almost 3,000 specimens in 1913, later populations would not be so high. The obverse of this boldly impressed example has lovely copper-orange patina with traces of rose and lavender, while the reverse offers deeper mahogany, peach, and amethyst. Population: 8 in 66, 4 finer (6/07).

Coin Engraver: Victor D.
